Laser Genesis and the Glassifier: Light Below, Peptides Above

Conveniently located to serve Maui.

Light below. Peptides above.

October is Global Laser Aesthetics Month, powered this year by Laser Genesis, the gentlest laser in our studio. It is also the month the Glassifier arrived at Awazul. They work on different layers of the skin, which is exactly why we paired them.

Two layers, two jobs

A Laser Genesis session in progress

Laser Genesis

A non-ablative laser facial. A 1064 nm wavelength passes through the surface and delivers gentle heat below it, where collagen is made. Nothing is removed, so there is no peeling and virtually no downtime. A session takes about 15 minutes, and it is suitable for all skin tones. We finish each one with ( plated ) CALM post-care.

The Glassifier

A needle-free, minimally invasive Glass Skin Treatment by IDENEL, powered by patented spicule technology. Microscopic carriers, finer than a hair, deliver GHK peptide into the epidermis over a 30-minute protocol to visibly improve fine lines, skin texture and pigmentation. Awazul is the first and only clinic in Hawaiʻi to offer it, as of October 2026.

A closer look at Laser Genesis

Around here we call it the lunchtime laser. You may also know it as the red carpet laser. It takes about fifteen minutes, there is virtually no downtime, and it is the one people book before an event.

Laser Genesis uses a 1064 nm Nd:YAG wavelength, delivered as thousands of very brief pulses while the handpiece hovers just above the skin. Each pulse adds a little warmth to the upper dermis. That gradual heat does two things: it encourages new collagen, and it acts on the tiny dilated vessels behind diffuse redness.

That is why we reach for it when the concern is:

  • Diffuse facial redness and the flushing-prone look of rosacea
  • Fine lines and uneven texture
  • The look of enlarged pores and scars
  • Skin that reads as dull or tired

Because 1064 nm is absorbed very little by melanin, it is suitable for all skin tones.

Where the 532 nm wavelength comes in

Laser Genesis runs on our excel V+ laser, which carries a second wavelength: 532 nm. This green light is absorbed strongly by the red of hemoglobin and the brown of melanin close to the surface, so it is the more targeted tool for:

  • Telangiectasia, the fine visible vessels around the nose and across the cheeks
  • Persistent redness, including the redness and vessels of rosacea
  • Brown spots and sun-related discoloration

Illustration: 532 nm is absorbed near the surface by visible vessels and brown spots; 1064 nm travels deeper.

A 532 nm treatment feels different from Laser Genesis: quick, warm snaps, placed precisely. Temporary redness or mild swelling is common, a treated vessel can occasionally bruise, and brown spots usually darken and flake away over about a week. Because 532 nm is also absorbed by melanin, it is not right for every skin tone or for tanned skin. Your provider decides whether it belongs in your plan.

The two wavelengths are often used together. The 532 nm wavelength addresses the individual vessels and spots; Laser Genesis follows for overall redness, tone and texture. Rosacea is a chronic condition, and laser treats its visible redness and vessels and does not cure it, so we also talk through triggers and skincare at your Consult.

Why they pair well

One is energy, the other is delivery. Laser Genesis is our choice for diffuse redness, fine lines and overall tone. The Glassifier is aimed at texture, the look of pores and dullness. They do different jobs, so one plan can hold both.

When they share a visit, Laser Genesis always goes first and the Glassifier follows. More often, we alternate them.

What to expect

Laser Genesis feels like gentle warmth, and most people go straight back to their day. After the Glassifier, expect a mild flush that fades within hours and a light prickly feeling for up to 48 hours, most noticeable when you wash your face. We ask you to skip makeup for 48 hours and wear mineral SPF daily.

Timing on Maui

Laser treatment is delayed on tanned skin, so we plan your series around your sun exposure. Laser Genesis is not recommended during pregnancy. The Glassifier uses marine-derived spicules, so tell us about any shellfish or marine sensitivity.
